So as most of you guys know, the new Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice Trailer released today after showing at San Diego Comic Con, if you haven’t seen it already, watch at the risk of spending your whole day rewatching it, it is truly that AMAZING and EPIC! Now I will discuss and give my thoughts on the trailer below as well as some fan theories, if you are one of those who does not like potential spoilers, do not read past here, as I will give insight into things non comic book gurus wouldn’t know, that may ruin pieces of the movie! First off major plot point revealed, at the beginning you hear Actress Holly Hunters Voice over saying, “Today is a day for truth, the world needs to know what happened, and to know what he stands for. That kind of power is very dangerous”. What it seems she is referring to is related to this shot, of superman using his heat vision to destroy what is clearly Wayne Financial, and of course Ben Affleck aka Batman, running through the wreckage and watching his companies building go down. The Wayne Financial logo on the building is revealed easter egg style, a very obvious easter egg to most, I might add. Pictured Below! While that is going on, you hear Holly Hunters voice over saying, “Let the records show, that the committee holds him responsible”. It seems she is referring to him destroying the Wayne Financial Building, after doing some more research into Holly Hunters character, IMDB shows her as “US Senator”, no name attached. So the question is, why? Were going to assume Superman did this, and its a safe assumption given that the rest of the trailer is essentially Batman trying to get revenge on Superman. But why would he destroy the Wayne Financial Building? Later on you see a shot of General Zod, and his body in a body bag. Shown below. Could they be trying to resurrect Zod, to fight superman? Thats one theory, as to why he would take it upon himself to destroy a building that isn’t Wayne Enterprises, but as a subsidiary of such, Wayne Financial. But if you think about it, this is misleading, because look at the damage Zod did in Man of Steel, if he were to beat Superman this time, we are left with essentially the same problem, a overpowered Superhuman, BUT instead of a theory of destroying the world, it is his mission, and no knowledge if released as to the “Phantom Zone”, where the other 2 Kryptonians are. If you ask me, a move to resurrect Zod to beat Superman, is misleading, as it seems in no way logical. However the use of him in a lab as shown below, to extract his blood, and find out what makes him powerful, OR, since we are talking about lex luthor, the use of him to find a chemical compound that in turn reduces his invulnerability(Kryptonite), could be a potential to, as that was always Lexs major play. No real way to tell at this point. We also see a shot of Lex Luthor essentially petting Superman like a dog? And him kneeling before him, more proof of kryptonite, a potential team up, why would superman bow down to someone who in the comics is clearly evil and we have no reason to think otherwise in this movie? This raises a lot of questions to be unanswered, given that according to IMDB, the confirmed cast list includes, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, and Ezra Miller as The Flash, there is going to be a lot going on, a lot of team ups, a lot of manipulation, you name it! Unfortunately right now, I don’t think anyone can answer the question why is Superman bowing to Lex Luthor? But I have another interesting question? Did anyone else notice the voice that says, “the fever, the rage, that turns good men…. cruel”. Is none other than Jerermy Irons voice, as you see the last part of it being said by him in what we assume is the batcave in this image below. But who is Jeremy Irons, well according to the IMDB page for Dawn of Justice, he is Alfred. Very interesting thing for Alfred to say is it not? From the comics I read he was always more, passive I suppose? In Christopher Nolans Batman, he stood by and watched it all happen for the most part. And later we get a shot of him saying, “You’re gonna go to war…… he is not our enemy”. And saying it with frustration, I might add. This is not the alfred I know. Could he be playing a bigger role in this movie? Perhaps a mentor for Bruce? Its very possible, he has lived through a lot of the Wayne Family, and has now seen both Bruces Parents die, as well as Wayne Financial be destroyed, frustration is probably likely, it is like what Michael Caine in The Dark Knight Rises said, “You’re all that I have left, I won’t bury you, like the rest of the family”. He is younger as well for Alfred, which on that note, you also have to notice lex luthor is younger to, making things a little different. But lets discuss, “He is not our enemy”, its Batman vs Superman, if Superman(as I assume he is talking about), is not their enemy, who is? Well I would assume none other than Lex Luthor, but lets do a quick head count really quick, confirmed thus far is Superman, Flash, Batman, Wonderwoman, and Aquaman. VS Lex Luthor, this either means another villain as is possible, or were going to have superheroes MANIPULATED against each other, to more than likely come back and fight together to form, what will be “The Justice League” in the 2017 movie! Speaking of potential other villains, when I took a closer look at this shot from the first Batman VS Superman Trailer, it occured to me, that the mouth piece on the Mech Bat Suit is open, leading me to believe, the voice over supposedly from Batman saying, “Tell me, do you bleed? You will”. May come from a villain, if the mouth piece is open on the mech suit, how is it using a vocal transformer to make the voice deeper? Or is Batfleck really that Batmany? We also don’t see the voice coming from Batman, this is very common, using different pieces of the movie as voice overs to other pieces of footage, but any Batman vs Superman fight scene is gonna be epic, so if he did say it in a fight with superman, why not show that fight? Its certainly possible another villain will appear, at this point its to early in my opinion to make guesses, the main justice league members are present, taking from any of those story lines, there are endless possibilities. Another potential hint at another villain is shown. “You let your family die” it reads, in big red letters. Could this be lex luthor? My opinion is no, that happened early in Bruce Waynes life, unless he had a new family and they died in this movie, perhaps during the building destruction, unlikely however. And also we must not forget, this taunt, if you will. “Hahah Jokes on you BATMAN”, this again leads me to believe either another villain or a clever manipulation from Lex. To early to tell at this point. Speaking of another villain, anyone find it strange that Lex Luthor, says “The red capes are coming, the red capes are coming”, in a somewhat Tom Hardy bane accent? Could be pure coincidence, or just a friendly poke to the fans. There is a lot to cover in this trailer. The majority of what I covered here is new material, as the second trailer, goes hand and hand with some of the same concepts as the first, such as fearing a god like man. No need to get into those here as they are relatively self explanatory plot points. However what does need to be discussed is, these images below. The first is a plane going into what looks like a post apocalyptic fiery burning war zone. That quite frankly could be what it is. When you look at the shot of Wonder Woman and the Shot of Superman flying, you see what looks to be a similar area. Even the hint at lex corp has a building on fire, this could just be damages, as it is unlikely it is the same area. We also see a desert looking area where batman appears to be fighting 5 guys, nothing special here, EXCEPT if you look closely they have the Superman Logo on their jackets. Does that mean someone has take Supermans side in order to take down Batman? Quite possibly. Now as my final point of discussion Id really like to take a look at Wonder Woman, in the shot above, if you watch the trailer she gets hit against that wall, and brushes it off but doesn’t take it lightly, a punch from Superman? Its possible, after all hes flying through the same area in a similar shot, or at least it looks like the same area. We also see something I have no idea what to make of, which is the top right image, from a scene depicting Wonder Woman, one way or another making a huge explosion, fight with Superman? Quite possibly? After all it was 2 superhumans fighting that left the city in ruins in the Man of Steel, could this be what did that to the areas shown in this movie? More than likely. Well I think i’ve discussed the main points I see in the new trailer, as with any superhero movie, they give you a taste but not quite enough to know what will happen, which is awesome if you ask me.
